Sony announced earlier this year the Blu-ray Players BDP-S470 and BDP-S570 would get a firmware update to make the players capable of playing 3D Blu-ray discs. This firmware upgrade is now available. While not much 3D Blu-ray content is currently on the market, this is a great chance to create the ultimate home 3D viewing experience. Of course a 3D HDTV is needed. The BD-P4600 Blu-ray Player from Samsung looks like no other player. This uniquely looking Blu-ray Player was designed to stand out in a crowd. Which it does, but not only for its looks. It has a great set of features that include Online Streaming Services such as Netflix and Pandora, it is Wi-Fi ‘Ready’, has 1 GB of internal storage memory and is DLNA compliant.
There is no denying the first thing that will catch most people attention is the design of the BD-P4600. It is one of the slimmest (1.6 inches thick) Blu-ray Players on the market and the very first player that you could mount on your wall. With rounded corners and red highlights and glossy black finish, it is a refreshing take on the usual boxy design of most Blu-ray Players. Find out more in this full review of the BD-P4600 Blu-ray Player form Samsung.

According to Criterion web site, the Blu-ray Movie Walkabout has been experiencing playback problems on certain Blu-ray Players. The problematic players are:

- Sony BDP-350 and BDP-360
- Pioneer BDP-05FD and BDP-120
- Sharp BD-HP22U, BD-HP21U, and BD-HP20U
- Memorex MVBD2520
- Insignia NS-2BRDVD
It seems with the Insignia and Memorex Blu-ray Players the disc will not load. And about 50 minutes into playing Walkabout, there is audio and video problems occurring in the rest of the players. Criterion is working with the pressing plant to resolve this manufacturing problem as quickly as possible. If you have purchased a copy of Walkabout and own one of the above Blu-ray Players, you can email Jon Mulvaney to get information on when a replacement copy will become available.
