THE PROS:
The Sony BDP-SX1000 is a portable blu-ray disc player that is compact and stylish. Its unique design makes it easy to transport and operate. Comes with a 5-hour rechargeable battery and a car adapter. The 10.1 inch LCD screen will produce great images. Two headphone jacks means you can watch movies with another person. The flip up screen can be positioned flat to be viewed like a tablet and can also turn 180 degrees to find that perfect angel. Equipped with a HDMI™ output; you can connect the player to your HDTV and use it as a regular Blu-ray Player or use the USB Port to play back movies, music and photos.

THE CONS:
Does not have wireless support, DLNA, built-in memory for BD-Live content (a USB memory device is required) or 3D playback. BDP-SX1000 portable player costs more than regular players, that provide more extra features. It does not seem to support any Online Streaming Media Services.

THE FINAL WORD:
The BDP-SX1000 portable blu-ray player from Sony does have a nice compact and convenient design that should allow you to watch movies in comfort on those long trips. It does cost a little more than a regular mid-range player, so it would have been nice if Sony had included some Online Streaming Media Services and built-in WI-FI. But if you are looking for a portable player for basic blu-ray functions, such as playing back your blu-rays, DVDs and CDs, the BDP-SX1000 could be just what you looking for. — Price you should look for when purchasing — Under $300.00
