New Blu-ray Movie Releases for May 18, 2010 includes the Oscar nominated movies Invictus and The Messenger. Clint Eastwood directs Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela, who after being elected president of South Africa must find a way to reunite his country at the end of apartheid, in Invictus. Also check out one of the best movie of the 1970’s, Walkabout. It tells the story of a young brother and sister who are abandoned by their father in the Australian outback. Along the way they are helped by a young aborigine on his walkabout, which is a rite of passage in which adolescent boys are initiated into manhood by venturing out into the wilderness alone. Directed by Nicolas Roeg, this truly great masterpiece is not to be missed and is now available for the first time thanks to Criterion on Blu-ray.
