The discs themselves will be more scratch resistant. Blu-ray ray uses a hard coating protective layer that resists scratches, dust and fingerprints which can cause a discs to skip, freeze or not play.
This new coating makes the Blu-ray disc more durable and long lasting.

Griffith about the US civil war.
