Samsung has released the first portable 3D Blu-ray Player, the BD-C8000. However, the built in screen is not 3D capable. To view 3D material, the BD-8000 player would have to be connected to a 3DTV and be used with 3D glasses. On its own it produces full 1080p, high definition 2D images.
Besides 3D capability, the BD-C800 features a open lid design, with a 10.1 inch screen. Has Built in WI-FI, a HDMI 1.4 output and DLNA certified. The player has a decent 3 hour battery life that should allow you to watch most movies with having to plug it in. You also have Samsung’s Internet apps, which provides you access to BLOCKBUSTER, Netflix, Facebook, Pandora, Google Maps, USA Today and many more.
Samsung lists the price at $500, but it can be purchased at Amazon right now for $450.
