RedBox Now Offering Blu-ray Rentals

Known for thier DVD rental kiosks in commercial areas, Redbox have started renting popular Blu-ray Movies as well. Redbox offers a self service coin operated machine, which allows you to rent DVDs from a large red box. Now in over 13,000 Redbox kiosks you can also rent a Blu-ray title for $1.50 per night. Eventual Blu-ray Movies will be available in up to 23,000 Redbox kiosks. The move towards Blu-rays is an inevitable evolution.

Blu-ray Players and Movie sales have steadily increased every quarter and experts states the first half of 2010 have seen an increase of Blu-ray Player sales of 103 percent. The amount of Blu-ray Players having been sold has gone up from 17 million to 19.4 million. With these figures, you can see why Redbox has ventured into the Blu-ray market.
