Sony has already launch its first 3D firmware (Version 3.30) update back in April. But this was for games support. This September has been reveal as the time frame for the PS3 firmware update that will make it capable of 3D Blu-ray playback. Re-affirming that the PlayStation 3 is still one of the best values you can purchase in Blu-ray.



Sony will introduce another firmware update later on that will enable 3D photo compatibility. You will be able to display images from two of Sony’s new Cyber-shot camera capable of taking panoramic 3D pictures. Once Sony is finished updating the PlayStation 3 it will be capable of playing 3D games, 3D Blu-ray Discs, show 3D pictures, render 3D broadcast from PlayTV and also playback 3D YouTube videos.
