June 20th is Father’s Day. If your father has not experienced the thrill of High Definition Blu-ray, why not go a Dimension further and get him a 3D Blu-ray Player. It will give him a great excuse to start shopping for a 3d HDTV. In the meantime a 3D Blu-ray Player can play regular HD Blu-ray discs as well as up scale his DVDs to near High Definition levels.
Samsung’s BD-C6900 Blu-ray Player would be a great choice. Beside being Full HD 3D Blu-ray capable, it has Internet@TV, BD-Live support, DLNA Compliant (Stream movies from his computer), built-in Wi-Fi, 1 GB of internal storage, internal audio decoding for Dolby Digital TruHD, DTS-HD Master Audio and 7.1 analog channel audio outputs.
Another great Blu-ray Player is Sony’s BDP-S570. It has excellent image and audio quality. Does not support Full HD 3D Blu-rays yet, but will be capable with a Firmware upgrade in the summer of 2010. It has online streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon VOD, YouTube and Slacker. Built-in Wi-Fi and 1 GB of internal memory, access to BD-Live content. Also has internal audio decoding for Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-HD and can playback Super Audio CD.
